My love for Labradors began as a young teen. One of my friends had a black Lab that was always happy to "Hang Out" with us while we hiked in the woods, went fishing, and "Hunted" turtles. His wonderful temperament and devotion convinced me that this was the breed for me. I read my mothers AKC Gazettes daily, and fell in love with the Killingworth line.
In 1981, I purchased Winterset Free Spirit (CH Chucklebrook Winterset MarksCD X CH Killingworth Winterset MyJo) from Enid Bloome in Norwalk, Conn. "Maggie" was my constant companion, a beautiful Show Dog, and a devoted mother. Her 14 years of life was not nearly long enough. She will always have a special place in my heart.
We still base our breeding program on the Killingworth dogs and thank Lorraine Taylor for all her years of endless support, friendship and knowledge. Not only are her dogs beautiful, they are proven in the field, which is what Labradors are all about! In recent years we have also been working with some Field CH lines to "Complete The Picture".
All of our Labs are raised in our home, have OFA/CERF and/ or Optigen Clearances. Pups are socialized and loved from the minute they are born, and pups leave here only after receiving 1st vaccines and exam by my Vet (who is also my employer! I am a Veterinary Assistant with over 10 years experience).
